Introduction
The evolution from 5G to 6G demands AI-driven, programmable, and federated research infrastructures that support large-scale, reproducible experimentation and foster local in- novation to connect the unconnected. Unlike previous generations, 6G will be AI-native and cloud-edge-integrated, requiring open and vendor-neutral platforms to validate new technologies through real-world testing.
The WPEIF 2026 – Special Edition OPENRIT6G provides a forum for researchers, industry experts, and open-source communities to discuss and demonstrate AI- powered and federated 6G testbeds, open datasets, and toolkits that enable scalable and reproducible research. It emphasizes practical experimentation, interoperability, and open frameworks that accelerate 6G innovation.
We invite original research papers, experimental studies, and case reports on the development and operation of open, AI-enabled, and federated 6G infrastructures. Submissions highlighting hands-on experimentation, open data, open-source tools, and federated AI/ML frameworks are especially encouraged.
