Instructions to Authors
Papers submitted to SBRC must represent original work that has not been published elsewhere nor is under review. Submission of papers will be exclusively electronic, via the SBC’s JEMS 3 system. Papers may be written in Portuguese or English and must be submitted only in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). Each paper is limited to 14 pages, including abstract, figures, diagrams, and references. Papers must be formatted according to the SBC Paper Submission Template. It is also important to emphasize that submitted papers must comply with the SBC Code of Conduct for Authors in Publications, approved by the SBC Council in February 2024. Accepted papers will be published in the SBC-OpenLib (SOL), digital library, which is open and freely accessible to the entire scientific community. Publication of accepted papers requires registration of at least one author for SBRC 2026, as well as the oral presentation of the paper during the event.
Adherence to the Principles of Open Science
SBRC encourages authors to adopt Open Science principles and practices. Therefore, authors are encouraged to share data sets, source code, tools, and other artifacts used in their research to promote transparency, reproducibility, and replicability of their work—for example, by including links to repositories and/or replication packages.
Authors are advised to include a non-numbered section titled “Availability of Artifacts” after the conclusion section, where they can inform where the research artifacts are available and how to access them. If it is not possible to make such artifacts available due to reasons such as confidentiality, privacy, or secrecy, authors are encouraged to include a statement explaining this impossibility.
It is important to emphasize that sharing research artifacts is desirable but not mandatory for submission nor is it a criterion for the acceptance of submitted papers.
