The SBRC 2026

The Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC) is an event held annually by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and the Laboratory of Computer Networks (LARC). Over more than four decades, SBRC has established itself as the most important national scientific event in the fields of computer networks and distributed systems, achieving international reach with the participation of researchers and professionals from Latin America and around the world.

In 2026, the 44th edition of SBRC will be held in person from May 25 to May 29, 2026 in Praia do Forte, Bahia, Brazil.  The SBRC 2026 program will include technical sessions for scientific paper presentations, keynote talks by Brazilian and international researchers, short courses, discussion panels, tool demonstrations, and workshops, as well as a Hackathon and a Thesis and Dissertation Competition.

About the LARC

The Laboratório Nacional de Redes de Computadores (LARC) was established in 1979 with the goals of promoting interdisciplinary research, fostering the development of human resources, and advancing specialized technologies in the field of computer networks. Its mission is to build national-level expertise in this area of knowledge and to promote collaboration among its member institutions.

One of LARC’s key initiatives to achieve these goals is its contribution to the organization of the SBRC. Currently, LARC includes more than 30 universities and Science and Technology Institutions, distributed across all five regions of Brazil. About the SBC

The Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) is a non-profit scientific society, founded in July 1978, that brings together students, professors, professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts in the fields of Computing and Information Technology from all over the country.

The SBC’s mission is to promote access to information and culture through information technology, foster digital inclusion, encourage research and education in computing in Brazil, and contribute to the development of computing professionals with social responsibility.

To organize and promote its activities, initiatives, and scientific, technical, educational, and policy-related events, SBC maintains a structure of three types of Thematic Groups (GT): Major Areas (GA), Special Committees (CE), and Special Interest Groups (GI). These groups bring together members with shared interests in various subfields of computing.

You are currently accessing the website of one of SBC’s Special Committees (CE), which represents a group of SBC members who share common interests and values in a specific area of Computing. Current members can subscribe to the mailing lists of the Special Committees (CE) in the areas they wish to follow.
