Short courses are among the main activities of SBRC. They provide the community with the opportunity to update knowledge on topics that are not usually covered by curricula or attract significant interest from researchers and professionals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals concerning recent or underexplored fields and topics with significant potential to attract the interest of students and professionals are welcome, to better qualify them for their research or job market. Short courses can be submitted on the topics suggested in the <a href=\"https:\/\/sbrc.sbc.org.br\/2025\/en\/trilha-principal\/\">Call for Papers to the SBRC 2025 Main Track<\/a> or even about other topics that the proponents regard as relevant to the field of computer networks and distributed systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each submitted proposal will be evaluated by three or more members of the Evaluation Committee. The evaluation will consider the following criteria: relevance and timeliness of the topic for the symposium, technical quality of the proposal and proponents\u2019 expertise on the proposed topic, and scope of the target audience profile. The best-evaluated proposals in different topics will be accepted for presentation and publication. The number of proposals to be accepted will depend on the physical availability allocated to SBRC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><br>Text Book<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The proponents of the selected short courses must produce a chapter for publication in the book \u201cMinicursos SBRC 2025\u201d. The chapter must be written in Portuguese or English and contain between 40 and 50 pages following the SBC template available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbc.org.br\/documentosinstitucionais\/#publicacoes\">https:\/\/www.sbc.org.br\/documentosinstitucionais\/#publicacoes<\/a>, section Publications &gt; Templates for Articles and Book Chapters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SBRC 2025 Short Courses book will be published in SBC OpenLib (SOL), the digital library maintained by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), and will be freely available to all the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><br>Submission of Proposals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Professors and researchers interested in presenting a short course must submit a proposal containing six to eight pages (excluding short curricula - item 6 below) with the information listed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Identification<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;1.1.<\/strong> Short course title<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>1.2.<\/strong> Proponent(s): institution(s), address(es), phone number(s), e-mail(s)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>1.3.<\/strong> Indication of the proponent(s) who will present the short course<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Overview<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>2.1.<\/strong> Goals of the course and how the topic will be handled (for example, theoretical or practical, general overview or deepening of specific aspects, presentation or comparison of technologies, formation of new skills or information, research results, etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>2.2.<\/strong> Target audience profile<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Text structure (course outline, topics\/sections covered)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> For each topic\/session provided for item 3, provide a summary of the contents to be addressed and the expected number of pages<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> Main bibliography used for preparing the short course (maximum of one page)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. <\/strong>Short curriculum of proponents (maximum of one page per person)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><br>Instructions to Proponents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Submission of proposals will be exclusively electronic through SBC\u00b4s JEMS3 system at <a href=\"https:\/\/jems3.sbc.org.br\/sbrc2025-minicursos\">https:\/\/jems3.sbc.org.br\/sbrc2025-minicursos<\/a>. The proposal must be contained into a single file in PDF format. Each short course must be structured to be presented during SBRC 2025 in three to four hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least one of the proponents of each selected short course must register for SBRC 2025 and present the short course during the symposium.
