The Brazilian Computer Society (SBC)<\/a>\u00a0is a non-profit scientific society founded in 1978, which brings together Computing students, lecturers, researchers, and enthusiasts from all over Brazil. The SBC's role is to promote access to information and culture through Computing, foster digital inclusion, encourage research and education in the field in Brazil, and contribute to the professional growth of individuals with social responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the organizational structures of SBC is the Special Committees (CEs)<\/a>, currently 28. Each one represents a group of associates who share common interests in one or more sub-areas of Computing. One of these CEs is the Computer Networks and Distributed Systems Special Committee (CE-RESD)<\/a>, whose leading role is to ensure and coordinate the continuity and quality of SBRC, as well as to provide means for the dissemination of the state of the art and state of practice in computer networks and distributed systems and intersections between these areas within the broader field of Computing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individuals with a valid SBC membership can subscribe to the mailing lists <\/em>of the CEs in the areas they wish to follow, including CE-RESD, and avail themselves of several other benefits<\/a>.
