Overview

The SBRC workshops are satellite events that provide opportunities for focused discussions on select topics, using alternative formats to the SBRC Main Track. These may include the presentation of papers, tutorials, lectures, and/or panels, among others. The workshops enrich and complement the SBRC by addressing emerging topics, enabling the submission and exchange of ideas on ongoing research, as well as allowing for more in-depth discussion on established themes in the fields of Computer Networks and Distributed Systems.

For the 43rd edition of SBRC, the Organizing Committee invites researchers to submit workshop proposals to be held in conjunction with the symposium, covering topics of interest to the Computer Networks and Distributed Systems community.

Submission Instructions for Workshop Proposals

Workshop proposals should include the following:

  • Workshop title
  • Name, email, and institution affiliation of each workshop organizer
  • A brief history of the organizers' involvement in the workshop's subject area
  • A brief technical description of the workshop, its focus, and justification for why the topic should be addressed in the context of an SBRC workshop (one page maximum)
  • Description of the workshop dynamics, including plans for lectures, panels, tutorials, and a brief description of the review process (including the expected number of accepted papers)
  • Workshop Call for Papers (one page). To align with the SBRC's scheduled dates, the deadlines to be included in the workshop's Call for Papers must be as follows:
  • Paper submission: March 20, 2025
  • Communication of results: April 17, 2025
  • Camera-ready due: April 22, 2025
  • A brief dissemination plan (e.g., how the workshop will be promoted, or possible submissions to special journal issues) and the expected number of participants

If proposing a new edition of a workshop previously held at SBRC, one must include:

  • A brief history of previous editions and Qualis-CAPES classification (if available);
  • Number of submitted and accepted papers in the last five editions, and;
  • Number of participants in the last five editions.

The evaluation of proposals will take into account the workshop's potential to attract participants, produce valuable outcomes, and address emerging and cross-cutting topics relevant to the SBRC Main Track that appeal to a substantial portion of the community.

All accepted workshop papers must be submitted to the SBRC 2025 Publications Coordination by April 23, 2025. The workshop proceedings will be published in the SBC's digital library, SBC OpenLib (SOL): https://sol.sbc.org.br/.
